Eagle Golf Bay Shore announces its commitment to improving the lives of Veterans with disabilities.

In collaboration with THE VETERANS ADMINISTRATION MEDICAL CENTER AT NORTHPORT, Eagle Golf Bay Shore announces its commitment to improving the lives of Veterans with disabilities.

With Eagle Golf Bay Shore’s clubhouse open to qualified participants Free-Of-Charge, it is anticipated that the Eagle Golf Disabled American Veterans Program will be a weekly event.  Each session will consist of two hours of simulator time, as well as use of a 20’ x 40’ synthetic putting green.  Golf clubs and balls will be provided to those who need them.

As one of the leading INDOOR Virtual Golf playing and training facilities on Long Island, Eagle Golf has launched a special Program that will give disabled former and current members of the Armed Forces the opportunity to try the great game of golf -- or even return to the golf game which they may have thought they could no longer participate in.

At Eagle Golf, these veterans will find not only world renown courses simulated with precise accuracy and stunning realism.  They will discover the comfort and ease of use, supportive professionalism and friendship that make this an ideal setting.  Here they can practice old skills, learn new ones, have fun, stay active, enjoy camaraderie, and re-ignite their competitive drive.

PGA lessons will also be offered, several prominent area pros having generously volunteered to donate their time for group and individual instruction.

Joanne Cote - Middle Island Country Club
Mike Darrell -  Mill Pond Golf Course
Andy Carracino – Timber Point Country Club

In the Program’s initial stages, participating Vets will be assembled by PATRICK CAMPBELL, Northport VA Hospital’s Recreation Therapist and Health and Wellness Coordinator.  Patrick’s first group of eager golfers met at Eagle on October 23rd, at which time the team divided to experience both Pebble Beach and St. Andrews, two of the world’s most spectacular courses!  The next group will gather November 5th, when PGA Pro Mike Darrell will do the honors, teaching those affected by injury sustained in the service of their country, lifting the vets up in the spirit of golf.

The successful launch of these beginning sessions indicates that Eagle Golf’s new VA-associated Program is destined to make a positive contribution to the self-worth, productivity, fitness, and overall health of our local Disabled American Veterans.

“Thanks to the leadership of Veterans Affairs, thousands of veterans’ lives have been impacted positively through sport.”  United States Olympic Committee, USA Paralympics

The Best Value in Custom Fit Irons - Tour Edge Ladies Max-D45 $399

The ultimate in value, the Bazooka Max-D45 is the most affordable, brand name, custom fit iron in golf.

Tour Edge Golf occupies top-10 market share in every category of golf clubs as measured by Golf Data Tech, the industries market share monitor. The company has built the brand on the concept of premium quality product sold for an affordable price. The new Tour Edge Max-D45 iron is no exception.

The Ladies Max-D45 features an undercut cavity, toe weighting and variable progression throughout the entire set for maximum forgiveness and performance. Designed to hit it closer to the pin every time, the D45 iron has a deep undercut cavity that moves weight away from the face and lower in the sole.

The iron’s progressive design can be seen in each iron’s different blade length, face height, top line, offset, bounce, and MOI. This optimizes the club’s performance in distance,
trajectory, spin, bounce, forgiveness, and accuracy. The long irons (3-5) feature a wider, more hybrid-like blade length, thicker sole, and progressive undercut cavity for greater forgiveness and higher flying shots. The mid irons (6-7) feature a shorter blade length, less offset, more bounce, and a smaller top line and sole for greater workability and shot-making. Finally, the scoring irons (8-PW) feature a smaller, undercut cavity, the least offset, the most bounce, and a slightly larger sole than the mid irons for shots that get up quick and stick close to the pin.
The Bazooka Max-D45 comes with Tour Edge’s lifetime warranty and 30-day play guarantee (30-day applies to stock sets only).

Add to that, the club’s toe weighting drives the sweet spot further into the toe area for
greater forgiveness on all off center hits.

It is available for as little as $279 (steel), $399 (graphite) for a seven piece set that is stock or custom fitted. For more information, call (800) 515-3343 or visit www.touredge.com.

Located in Batavia, IL, Tour Edge manufacturers and sells golf clubs under the Exotics and Tour Edge brands. The company has forged a name for itself as a producer of high-quality golf clubs that are hand-assembled one set at a time and sold at unbeatable prices. Tour Edge clubs are distributed throughout the United States and the world. Availability ranges from some of the finest green-grass locations in the country to the largest discount golf shops. Fall Is The Perfect Time To Celebrate Golden Horseshoe’s 50th Anniversary

Beautiful weather, gorgeous scenery, an Audubon sanctuary, and special golf packages make autumn the season to savor Colonial Williamsburg

Colonial Williamsburg’s Golden Horseshoe Golf Club and autumn were made for each other. Cooler temperatures, colorful leaves and one of the country’s finest golf courses beckon.
But that’s not all. This year is the 50th anniversary of the Gold Course, and special packages and rates help mark the celebration. Commemorating the opening of the Robert Trent Jones Sr-designed Gold Course – one of the most highly regarded courses in the country and the one that Jones himself referred to as his “finest design” – golfers can experience incredible golf and America’s living history lesson all at once.
From August 31 to November 26, three-day/two-night packages begin at $164 per person per night at the Williamsburg Woodlands Hotel and Suites, and include:
  • Accommodations at a choice of Colonial Williamsburg hotels
  • One round of golf for every night of the stay per golfer
  • Free replay rounds (to be booked upon completion of first round)
  • Free rental of PING golf clubs
  • Unlimited range balls
  • Commemorative 50th anniversary golf pouch and Golden Horseshoe yardage book
Routed through mature woodlands and always in excellent condition, the Gold Course is a beautiful challenge. When it opened in 1963, Jones described it as “a natural arboretum,” and it is designated as an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary golf course.
Fifty years later, the Gold Course continues to win raves and collect honors. It is included on Golf Magazine’s “Top 100 You Can Play” list of public-access courses, and is noted as one of the Top Six Robert Trent Jones Sr. courses named by Golf Digest, joining the likes of Ireland’s Ballybunion, Spain’s Valderrama, and California’s Spyglass Hill.
As soon as that first hint of autumn crispness brushes your cheek, come to Golden Horseshoe Golf Club and see what golfers have been talking about for half a century. The Gold Course is as much a gem as it’s always been, and the special Anniversary Package makes it a rare treat.

Ladies Maximize the Greens You Hit With Bazooka Max-D45 Hybrid.

The Bazooka Max-D45 hybrid gives you a level of control, power, and value that is unmatched.

The club’s classic pear-shaped design, 17-4 stainless steel construction, forged face, and aerodynamic design can help you turn bogies into pars and pars into birdies. The club’s large sweet spot and variable face thickness deliver maximum power across all areas of the face. Further enhancing power, the Bazooka has a visibly sloped crown and aerodynamic shape that reduce drag and improve airflow for greater swing speed.

Helping you hit more greens, the D45 has a high moment of inertia (MOI - the club’s ability to resist twisting). Tour Edge engineers achieved the high MOI by adding two internal weight cavities in the heel and toe that lower the center of gravity and move it deeper in the club head. The high MOI and the large sweet spot deliver the forgiveness you need to keep your shots on the green and out of the greenside bunker.

Available for $99, the Bazooka Max-D45 comes with Tour Edge’s lifetime warranty, a 30-day play guarantee, and comes with a UST Mamiya VTS 60-gram shaft. For more information, call (800) 515-3343 or visit www.touredge.com.

Located in Batavia, IL, Tour Edge manufacturers and sells golf clubs under the Exotics and Tour Edge brands. Casa de Campo Named Top Golf Resort in Caribbean By Caribbean Journal

       LHW Logo

Once again the region’s best resort—and Teeth of the Dog the number-one course— as named by the Caribbean’s leading digital newspaper

Casa de Campo has been named the best resort, and its “Teeth of the Dog” the best course, by Caribbean Journal, the leading digital newspaper covering the region.
In the Journal’s annual “Golf List,” just published, the famous golf resort on the southern coast of Dominican Republic captured top honors. This goes along with many other awards, including being named one of the world’s top golf and top family resorts by Andrew Harper’s Hideaway Report. Casa de Campo also captured every leading golf, hotel, and resort award at the 2012 Caribbean and Americas World Travel Awards, many of them for numerous consecutive years.
Along with top honors for the resort, Caribbean Journal named Casa de Campo’s “Teeth of the Dog” the region’s finest golf course. In citing both, the Journal wrote:
The famed 7,000-acre Casa de Campo resort in the Dominican Republic’s La Romana boasts what is widely considered the best resort in the Caribbean – Pete Dye’s Teeth of the Dog. Dye himself said seven holes were “created by God.” You be the judge. (It also includes Dye’s “Dye Fore” course.)
Casa de Campo beat out a distinguished list of resorts located throughout the islands.

ABOUT CASA DE CAMPO: The 7,000-acre Casa de Campo resort offers an unmatched array of experiences found in a Caribbean, including choice accommodations – in-hotel rooms and suites or spacious villa homes;  variety of dining in restaurants such as The Beach Club by Le Cirque and La Cana by Il Circo; unequalled sports experiences such as 90-holes of Pete Dye-designed golf; and river fishing, a Yacht Club, private beaches,  the Casa de Campo Spa, the Altos de Chavon artists village with museums, art galleries, boutique shopping, a Church, 5,000-seat Grecian style amphitheater, site of international touring concerts. Casa de Campo is a member of The Leading Hotels of the World.

GolfRedefined.com Select -- Test and Swap the Hottest Drivers in Golf

New Concept for Today’s Golfers

Golfers never tire of trying out new equipment and evaluating what might just be the magic club of the season to drop their handicaps, provide an edge in tournaments or simply impress their buddies.  Now with GolfRedefined.com, a new membership website, golfers can find the perfect driver to suit their game by selecting, testing and swapping clubs.  Think “Netflix” for golf!

GolfRedefined.com is the first online site to give golfers the opportunity to select, test and swap the very best drivers on the market.  For an affordable monthly membership fee, golfers can order the hottest drivers as soon as they hit the market.   All top brands are offered and almost every manufacturer’s driver is included in the product line-up.

“We created GolfRedefined.com to revolutionize the way golfers identify and select the best driver that works for them and the only way to do this is to test and play in real conditions with a number of models before the perfect match is found,” says Lorne Fierbach, CEO of GolfRedefined.com.  “Why pay $400 for a top driver only to learn that the club really doesn’t feel right or perform.  With one of our membership packages everyone now can try out the best brands to find the right club for their game.  GolfRedefined.com members might decide to keep one driver all season and swap the following year for the newest model.”

Golfers interested in joining GolfRedefined.com should visit the website and select a membership category:  Birdie, Hole-in-One or Eagle.  Each membership tier offers different benefits and club choice options.

Membership in GolfRedefined.com starts at $24.95 per month and goes up to $39.95 per month, or for an even better value, members can sign up for quarterly packages.  Golfers not interested in a membership still are able to enjoy the benefits of the program through a “Rent Only” option.

“We want golfers to rethink how they see the driver in their bag.  There is no need to purchase one because we allow golfers to have whatever driver they want, for as long or short a time as needed.  We offer flexibility and simplicity,” Fierbach commented.  “We’re providing a unique service as part of the industry effort to help grow the game, and making golfers happy is something we easily can accomplish.”

GolfRedefined.com initially will be offering right-handed men’s drivers with plans to introduce other clubs for both men and women as the company grows.
